Our Outreach Mission

Our lab is passionate about research but we’re also passionate about communicating our research with the general public. To realize this goal we participate in and host outreach events across Idaho and the inland Pacific Northwest. These events reach people of all ages and all walks of life. One outreach activity that we are currently focused on is the development of middle school science curriculum which aims to provide students with authentic, science-led material related to soil, ecosystem, and microbial ecology. Through collaboration with Palouse Prairie Charter School, we are entering our third year of curriculum development, with the goal of refining and making these materials available state-wide.
